Bearsden Choir is always looking for enthusiastic singers. Although being able to sight-read music is desirable, it isn’t essential provided you have a good ear, are enthusiastic and willing to learn. Contact us and come along to one of our rehearsals to find out more.
Our Season extends from late August to mid May and weekly rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings in The Wellington Church, University Avenue from 7.30pm to 10.00 pm. The choir undertakes performances every season in a range of venues, previously The City Halls, Paisley Abbey, St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, The Barony, RCS, St John’s Renfield Church and Kelvingrove Museum and Art Galleries. We sing a wide range of musical styles and perform works by composers from the traditional to contemporary. We enjoy singing with highly acclaimed professional soloists and orchestras.
Singers eager to join the choir are advised to come along for a rehearsal or two to get a better feel for how we operate before going forward for audition with Andrew Nunn, our Musical Director. This is generally a very relaxed experience involving a few exercises to allow Andrew to ensure individuals are placed in the best section for their voice.
Of course the Bearsden Choir season isn’t all serious and hard work: intense rehearsals are always relieved by laughter. So why not think of joining us?
